I was paralyzed by anxiety, too.
It all happened when I was working for the European Union in the field doing reconstruction assistance after the wars in the Balkans and someone was killed in a car bomb right in front of my eyes. Overnight I went from a successful, competent professional traveling around the world in a highly prestigious and demanding job to going to live on a Greek island because of the anxiety that traumatic experience caused.
For weeks on end, I couldn’t leave the house, was anxious about being in public, felt stressed around everyone and everything and practically became a recluse. All in an attempt to cope with my anxiety.
That's how bad it was.
But after years of Buddhist meditation, mindfulness practice, yoga, therapy and study with some of the greatest teachers in the world like Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, Jack Kornfield, Hala Khouri and Dr. Gabor Mate, I've distilled the essence of what I've learned about stress and anxiety into this accessible workshop.
Everyday, people come to my classes, workshops, retreats and private coaching with challenges exactly like these where I share with them what I've learned.

Is this workshop for me?
If you have mild to moderate anxiety and are looking for additional understanding and options for your toolkit, this is going to be a fantastic resource for you. If your stress is severe or you are extremely anxious all the time, please note this workshop may not be the best fit for you (although you will likely learn some new important information about the body’s role in stress and anxiety). If you have a family member, friend, colleague or employee with anxiety, it will allow you to better understand what you can do to help and support them from a place of empathy and compassion.
Why should I pay $15 for an online workshop when there are so many resources out there available for free?
Indeed there are so many wonderful free resources out there and that’s one of the great joys of our information age. I believe that you are the best judge of where to invest your time, energy, money and other resources. Hundreds of people have attended my classes and workshops at places ranging from Google and the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, the Two Bunch Palms Resort and the Betty Ford Center and have had private coaching for which they have paid thousands of dollars. This workshop is priced at about the cost of a yoga class you'll find in most cities, and is an asset that you can add to your digital library of wellness resources for the days, months and years to come. This is the first time I'm offering this information at this accessible price point to help as many people as possible get the benefits of mindfulness and, if it feels right, I hope you'll consider joining. I'm dealing with an active addiction and trauma and anxiety are a big part of it. Will this workshop help me?
This workshop is not intended to replace therapy or a program of recovery for anyone facing addiction. It may, however, be a helpful adjunct to both of those. Talk to your support team, including your therapist or doctor, and check in with your intuition to see if body-based mindfulness practices and a better understanding of the physiology of trauma are right for you at this time.
- What do I need to participate?
To get the most from this experiential and educational workshop, here are a couple of suggestions. There isn't a need to be perfectionistic about this, just do the best you can to set yourself up for success by: turning off all other browsers, apps and programs during the online Zoom video workshop; putting your phone on sleep mode so you won't be disturbed during the experiential exercises; being in a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be disturbed; wearing comfortable clothes, having a bottle of water to stay hydrated and perhaps some of your favorite essential oils, plus a journal to take any notes that may feel especially important to jot down.

I've tried to meditate before and it just made me more anxious! My head spins and it won't stop. Should I do this workshop?
Again, you (along with your therapist or trusted doctor) are the best judge of what is helpful and what is harmful for you. What's great about this workshop is that you can pause it at any time, take a break, go for a walk, move around, perhaps do some journaling or yoga, and come back to it when you feel ready. Once you sign up and receive the workshop, it's yours to keep forever, available 24 hours a day and something you can come back to when the time is right for you. There is no need to force anything, but over time with practice, using the workshop regularly will help you to develop greater capacity for self-regulation, relaxation and ease.
